I was born and grew up in north east Scotland and went to London to study Dental Therapy. I began working for the NHS in Northampton in 1975 and spent many years working with disabled children and adults. It was during this time that I began to appreciate the range and the number of health problems that many people suffer from. I also began to realise that orthodox medicine only looked at health problems in isolation i.e. if you had a skin problem you saw a dermatologist, if you had menstrual problem you saw a gynaecologist and if you had a mental problem you saw a psychiatrist.

I knew the work I did was important and that I helped the patients have pain free mouths. However, I began to see it as a very small part of the person and I wanted to do more. I became increasingly interested in a holistic approach to people’s problems and actively sought an alternative therapy. I discovered homeopathy in 1988 and it encompassed everything I believed in.

I studied at the College of Homeopathy in London from 1989-1993 and later enrolled on a registration programme to become a registered practitioner with the Society of Homeopaths. I have also completed a supervisor’s course and now supervise homeopathic students.

As part of continued professional development I regularly attend study days and seminars.

Over the years I have built a thriving homeopathic practice. I work from The Northampton Clinic in Abington Avenue, Northampton and from my home in Isham.
